Abstract

ABSTRACT
The study addresses the growing importance of Information and
Communication Technologies (ICT) in university teaching practice. It analyzes how
these tools are transforming teaching and learning methods, and identifies the main
challenges and opportunities that arise from this integration. The authors highlight that
ICTs offer great potential to personalize education, encourage interaction and access to
educational resources. However, its effective implementation requires overcoming a
number of obstacles, such as lack of teacher training, the digital divide and resistance to
change. The study identifies the ICT tools most used by university teachers, including
virtual learning platforms, communication, collaboration and content creation tools, as
well as academic social networks. Teachers' perceptions of the impact of these tools, both
positive and negative, are also analyzed. Among the main conclusions, the need for
continuous teacher training, the development of institutional policies that promote the
use of ICTs, and investment in technological infrastructure are highlighted. It also
emphasizes the importance of addressing inequalities in access to technologies and
developing new ways of assessing learning in digital environments. In summary, the
extensive presents a complete and up-to-date vision on the integration of ICT in higher
education, highlighting both the benefits and challenges of this transformation.
