VIII. LOS IMPACTOS ECONÓMICOS GLOBALES DEL COVID-19 EN MÉXICO Y LOS EFECTOS DIFERENCIADOS POR REGIONES

Abstract

The general objective is to analyze the global economic impacts of COVID-19
in Mexico and the differentiated effects by region. The analysis was conducted through
the comparative method and qualitative and quantitative techniques were used. Census
data and official statistics were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The starting point
was the hypothesis that the northern regions have a greater degree of dynamism and
economic integration. Derived from integration into the North American economy due to
its proximity to the border with the United States. As the main result, the negative impact
on the economy was identified. Which denotes the vulnerability and uncertainty in
economic growth in the face of supply and demand shocks, caused by factors such as a
pandemic and with it the shortage of components and interruptions in supply chains.
